Carrosserie Bussy has been nestled in the heart of the village of Crans-près-Celigny since it was formed in 1954 by Mr. Raymond Bussy. A blacksmith by trade, Raymond Bussy broadened his vocation by acquiring a small automobile repair business. Quickly his keen work ethics lead him to start building utilitarian vehicles: in the early days, Carrosserie Bussy was renowned for their construction of truck axels.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Gérald Bussy underwent a formation in bodywork. As such, when he joined the business, the repair of utilitarian vehicles and automobiles was added to the range of services offered at Carrosserie Bussy, before becoming the core business activity in 1975.

In 1978, Gérald Bussy took over the reins and expanded the family business. The restoration of classic cars enables the firm to showcase their craftsmanship and technical know-how.

In 2000, the third generation joined the business: Gilles Bussy embarked on learning the ropes in the interest to, in his time, take over the family business. With a solid background in bodywork, he embarked on further training in paint work and colorimetry as well as complimentary services. Through internships in Germany and England, Gilles gained valuable experience in working with the most prestigious automobile brands : Lotus, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Rolls Royce. Gradually, the new generation gained commercial and technical responsibility of the business.

Since the beginning of 2006, father and son have joined forces. The reputation that Carrosserie Bussy enjoys in the region is due to the perpetual efforts of its managers, qualified personnel and apprentices over the past 50 years to satisfy the needs of their loyal clientele.

Only time will tell whether the fourth generation (Loïc & Quentin, born may 12, 2007) will continue the adventure…
